Boxed In

A poem about reaching your full potential

if she’s honest
she puts herself in a box
that’s where her fear is at ease
that’s where the voice that says she can’t goes away
the box gives a sense of stillness
so she sometimes retreats 
until her spirit begins to roar
tearing the roof off of the box
she breaks free over and over again
to be everything she was created to be
