The Currency of Life

A poem of highlighting the need of character

character is expensive 
it’s wealth is often undervalued 
the currency of its consistency
outweighs pounds of gold
character’s ability to separate boys from men
and girls from women
weigh heavy on the scales of revelation
revealing what one attempts to mask
ones true character leaks out 
day after day

as decisions are made 
the dark will come to the light 
when options are many 
character reflects commitment 
a humble heart finds contentment 

the virtuous woman prays her way through
respecting, loving, and forgiving 
even when it feels impossible
choosing to walk away 
when faced with compromising her values
because her currency 
her character 
is expensive
